Saint Alban’s Chapel is an extension of Church of the Holy Cross… one Church in multiple locations. You can worship on Monday’s in The Citadel’s Summerall Chapel at 6:30 or Sundays on Sullivan’s Island at 8:00, 9:00, 9:40, or 11:00 or on Daniel Island at 9:30 or 10:30. A description of each service is listed below:

6:30 Monday Evening Rite II – The Citadel, Summerall Chapel (beginning August 31st)

Monday evenings at 6:30 we meet in Summerall Chapel for a vibrant college led worship experience Contemporary music is sung at this 60-minute service accompanied by guitars, bass, drums, keyboard, and grand piano. Communion is celebrated with a life-oriented sermon.

8:00 Traditional Rite I – Sullivan’s Island

This is our most traditional service, offering a reverent and elegant opportunity to worship our God in our historic building including Rite I Communion. Our Director of Music Ministries provides empyreal music from our state-of the art organ, but no hymns are sung. A life-oriented sermon is always a part our 8:00 worship.

9:00 Contemporary Rite II – Sullivan’s Island

Our most informal worship experience, held in the Great Hall at our Sullivan’s Island location. Contemporary music is sung at this 65-minute service accompanied by guitars, bass, drums, keyboard, and grand piano. Communion is celebrated with a life-oriented sermon.

9:30 Children’s Family Service – Daniel Island

Like no other worship services in the entire state. This is true worship from child’s perspective, with parents and children worshiping God together in our traditional church buildings. It’s quality time for parents to spend with their children, and it’s a fast-paced, fun-packed exciting half-hour for the children. Come early to get a good seat.

9:40 Children’s Family Service – Sullivan’s Island

Like no other worship services in the entire state. This is true worship from child’s perspective, with parents and children worshiping God together in our traditional church buildings. It’s quality time for parents to spend with their children, and it’s a fast-paced, fun-packed exciting half-hour for the children. Come early to get a good seat.

10:30 Contemporary Rite II – Daniel Island

Our most informal worship experience is held in the parish hall at Daniel Island. Contemporary music is sung at this 65-minute service accompanied by guitars, bass, and drums. Commuion is celebrated with a life-oriented sermon.

10:30 Traditional Rite I – Daniel Island

This is a Rite I Holy Eucharist (Communion) service held in the Traditional Church at the Daniel Island location. It features a life-oriented sermon, traditional hymns and gifted soloists every Sunday.

11:00 Traditional Rite I – Sullivan’s Island

This is a Rite I Holy Eucharist (communion) with a life-oriented sermon and traditional hymns held in the Traditional Church on Sullivan’s Island. Our excellent choir leads the congregational singing in a joy-filled hour of worship to our Lord.

I’On Monthly Service

On the fourth Sunday, Holy Cross offers a worship service at I’on. This 50-minute service is great for all ages and is followed by breakfast. It begins at 9 a.m.
